Ilka joined the people’s claims department in Varna, Bulgaria in early 2023, after 25 years in the hospitality business having handled various crisis situations, illness and injury cases but from a different perspective.

She is trilingual in Russian, English and Bulgarian and her Russian is instrumental in the support of the wave of Ukrainian seafarers choosing Bulgaria as an alternative home country.
