Yacht familiarization course, Piraeus, 24-26 February 2016

Kalimbassieris Maritime proudly announces the successful organization of an exclusive and pioneering for the Greek market Yacht familiarization course from 24-26 February 2016 in Piraeus.

The course was exclusively organized for Members of the Lloyd’s Marine U35s insurance group, comprising of Underwriters, Claims handlers, Brokers and Lawyers with the participation of Spanopoulos Group C4Insurance Brokers and Ince & Co. Piraeus.

The course included various activities such as visits at busy yards and marinas, as well as presentations of various topics related to the yachting industry. The topics referred inter alia to the capacity and organization of the Greek marinas, yacht repairs in Greece with particular emphasis to the superyacht paintwork repairs, recent local insurance market status and trends and the latest Greek law reforms affecting the yachting sector.

During the visit at Flisvos and Alimos marinas, the group was guided through the various differences between the privately owned and chartered yachts, whilst also had the chance to board a modern 45m motor yacht for familiarizing with the explicitly high demands of superyacht market and getting acquainted with the peculiarities of the yachting sector in terms of the operational aspect, the risks involved and the importance of maintenance by discussing on the spot and referring to live examples.
